STORYLINE:
The Smart China Expo 2023 kicked off Monday in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.
Scheduled until Wednesday, this year's expo focuses on smart, connected new energy vehicles.
It has attracted over 500 exhibitors from home and abroad to display their cutting-edge technologies, products, and applications in smart industries and the digital economy.

"We want to deepen the cooperation, that's why we are here. It's our 4th time at the Smart China Expo in Chongqing, and so we are happy that we can be here in person.
China is very advanced in the new energy vehicle industry. We want to take this opportunity and there are a lot of Austrian companies. They always need to adjust to the new development in China and to adjust to the market demand and I think this is our task to support them in this kind of challenge."

"Our expectations are to let people know about Samac. We just opened 2 years ago (in China), so we want to let people know what we do and what we can offer to the industrial automatic sector."
According to the organizer, 84 investment projects with contracts worth over 213.8 billion yuan (around 29.4 billion U.S. dollars) have been signed at the expo.
The expo, held in Chongqing since 2018, is a platform to promote global exchanges of smart technologies and international cooperation in this industry.
