Passionate traffic cop's road directing steals the show in China
A passionate traffic cop's road directing stole the show in northern China
The video was filmed in the city of Siping in Jilin Province on June 5.
With over 20 years in service, the police officer named Ding Guanxiong's unconventional hand signals resemble a dance that flows with the rhythm of passing cars.
It's reported that during peak hours, Officer Ding's unique method enables over 200 more vehicles to pass compared to other intersections. Many drivers, in recognition of his hard work, spontaneously salute him as they pass.
However, behind his positive and enthusiastic facade lies immense dedication. Few are aware of the physical toll his job takes on him. Ding reveals that he's been consistently working out for over a decade, which he believes is necessary to withstand the demands of his high-intensity traffic directing.
Humbled by the recognition, Ding expressed his joy in knowing that his methods are appreciated. He remains committed to his mantra: "Clear four-way intersections and turn rush hours into smooth passages."
The video was provided by local media with permission.
