A house collapsed after Typhoon Saola swept through the city in southern China.

Video filmed in Yunfu City in Guangdong Province on September 5, shows a riverside residential building collapsing.

Influenced by the outer bands of typhoon Saola, there were heavy rains around the Nanjiang River. This caused the river's water levels to surpass warning levels, reaching heights not observed in half a century.

Fortunately, ahead of the collapse, residents were evacuated under the guidance of hazard detection personnel, ensuring no casualties.

Following the incident, local government leaders promptly coordinated with emergency, water affairs, housing, natural resources, and firefighting departments for immediate response and rescue.

At present, all residents from at-risk houses along the river have been safely evacuated and relocated. Warning signs have been placed along the river roads, sealing off hazardous areas.

Provincial and city experts have also been dispatched to assess the situation and ensure a scientific approach to the issue.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
