A missing cat wandered into a randomer's backyard in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and formed a bond with the homeowner. The feline was then reunited with their true owner thanks to a doorbell camera.

Footage captured by @dontdrinkanddiy shows the cat making itself at home after befriending the homeowner.

"A cat came up to me while I was doing yard work, and followed us around the rest of the night. He made himself comfortable in our backyard while we looked for missing cat postings in local Facebook groups. We kept him in our garage overnight to keep him safe as he was declawed," the filmer told Newsflare.

The following day, as the homeowner was looking at local vets, their doorbell camera helped reunite the feline with its owner.

They added: "In the morning, we were in the process of finding a vet to get him checked out and to see if he had a microchip. Our doorbell camera went off and it was someone taping a flyer to our door. We ran outside immediately and yelled that we had his cat.

"He dropped all his flyers and ran to the garage to get his cat. It was amazing being able to reunite the two."
