A police officer spotted an unstable mountain cliff and acted swiftly to avert disaster in southern China.

Dramatic video filmed in Zhangping County in Fujian Province on August 30 shows a mountainside suddenly crashing down when a police officer was controlling the traffic.

A traffic police was conducting a routine road safety inspection when he noticed concerning signs of cracking and loosening on a mountain cliff by the road.

Without a moment's hesitation, they took emergency action, sealing off the affected section of the road. Less than a minute later, the unstable section of the mountain cliff collapsed.

Thanks to the officer's timely intervention, no casualties were reported, and no vehicles were damaged at the scene.
