Russia flexes its Tor-M1 air defense system working to shoot down drones in Ukraine
Footage shows a Russian Tor-M1 air defence system working to shoot down incoming Ukrainian drones in the Lyman region of eastern Ukraine.
The video begins with the Russian war machine manoeuvring into position it opens fire, launching a number of missiles into the sky.
It can then be seen moving away as the footage ends to avoid return fire.
The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Wednesday, September 6, along with a statement claiming: 'In the Krasnolimansky direction, the crews of a 'Tor-M1' air defence missile system of the Central Military District (CVO) have destroyed more than 200 enemy drones in the past few months.'
The Russian MoD added: 'In their combat operations, the system's crew uses radar equipment, which allows for easy detection and destruction of small reconnaissance and reconnaissance-strike drones operated by the enemy attempting to carry out attacks in the air.
'The precision of the system's combat application enables it to destroy up to eight airborne targets with a single ammunition load, after which the system is taken off combat duty and goes for reloading in the ammunition replenishment area.
'Since the beginning of the special military operation, the air defence units of the 'Center' group have been providing cover for military units, maintaining round-the-clock combat readiness at the frontlines.'
Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February 2022 in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
