A sand artist has welcomed US President Joe Biden to the G20 Summit in India with an impressive art installation on a beach in Puri, Odisha.

Sudarsan Pattnaik used around 2,000 diya (lamps) to decorate the installation that reads "Welcome to Bharat".

India sent invitations to world leaders for the summit using the word "Bharat", igniting rumours that Narendra Modi's government may be planning to phase out the country's English name.

2000 Diya installation Sand art to welcome USA president Joe Biden .

Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created sand sculpture by installing 2000 diya to welcome US president Joe Biden for G20 with message "Welcome to Bharat ", at Puri beach in Odisha on Tuesday.
Sudarsan has created a 6ft high sand sculpture of Joe Biden and a logo of G20 by using around 2000 mud diya. About 5 tons of sand used in this sculpture and students of his sand art Institute joined hand to complete this.
According to our culture we always welcome our guests with diya arti , so I have created this sculpture by using Diya , to welcome USA President,said Sudarsan.

Before Sudarsan has also created sand sculpture of USA president Joe Biden when he had won the presidential election.

So far Padma awarded artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has participated in more than 65 International sand art competitions and festivals around the World and won many prizes for our country. He always try to spread awareness through his sand sculpture around the World. His sand sculptures on environment awareness are often appreciated by UN environment.
