Fisherman scoops up drowning bird and releases it on dry land
A fisherman scooped up a drowning bird and released it on dry land.
Khwan Kaewmoo was setting up bait to catch large snakehead fish when the exhausted ashy woodswallow drifted beside his boat in Phayao province, Thailand, on August 2.
Footage shows the quick-thinking Khwan grabbing his net and using it to save the feathered animal as it was being carried away by the currents.
He turned his vessel to the riverbanks, where he placed the bird among the rocks to rest and recover.
Khwan said: 'The bird I saved was only a baby. I think it was trying to learn how to fly but fell into the water.'
