A Mormon church is holding an open house as it pushes for new followers in predominantly Buddhist Thailand.

The extravagantly designed 'Bangkok Thailand Temple' will be open to visitors of all religions until September 16, excluding Sundays.

Groundbreaking for the 4,508 sqm building's construction along the New Petchaburi Road began in January 2019, more than a decade after the property had been acquired by the church in 2008.

The temple is set to be dedicated by Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on October 22.

Interested visitors can book their free 50-minute tours online. The temple will be open from 9 am to 9 pm.
