Students found a clever way to deal with the flood - climbing along railings to keep their feet dry.

The youngsters were stranded during the deluge at the Angeles University Foundation in Angeles City, the Philippines, on September 6.

They inched their way along the black bars to keep their feet out of the ankle-deep torrents on the road below, as rain from the tail-end of a typhoon pounded the area.

The filmer Kristel Dizon said: 'This video was taken in the middle of a traffic jam at Angeles City where students of Angeles University Foundation were clinging to the gates of their University trying to avoid flood.'

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said two people were killed and more than 400,000 people were affected as Typhoons Haikui and Saola ravaged the tropical country last week.

Typhoon Haikui made landfall in southeast Taiwan on September 3 afternoon, knocking out power to more than 160,000 households. It then moved north to China.
