3 women in the city of Padang underwent trial at the Padang class 1A district court, Thursday (8 September 2023).

The 3 women were tried because they had gone viral as a result of their actions in giving alcoholic drinks to a cat and were reported by cat lovers in the city of Padang to the police.

In the trial, a white Persian cat with an age of 4 months was presented. Apart from that, the presiding judge at the trial also presented two witnesses who reported the incident by showing viral video evidence on social media.

The trial ran from morning to evening led by the chief judge named Juandra. In his decision, Juandra said "the 3 women were proven guilty and violated Law No. 302 on animal abuse and the 3 women were sentenced to 2 months or less in prison,".

After being decided, the three women cried and regretted their actions.

Meanwhile, the head of the Indonesian cat community, Doni, said "this is a form of learning for people who like to torture animals and will give a deterrent effect to those who like to torture animals."
