This is the hilarious moment a young man being hyped up by a large crowd tried a daring dive from a 25ft high bridge - but ended up a laughing stock when his toupee flew off on the way down.

Footage captured by Ms. Liu shows the lad standing on the edge of the Shizilin Bridge, a popular diving spot located in Tianjin, one of the largest cities in China, on September 6.

The man, dressed in grey shorts and a white T-shirt paired with white shoes, was captured as he braced himself to tombstone jump into the Haihe River while a large crowd cheered him on.

But as he musters his courage and takes the leap, his hairpiece came off mid-air, causing the audience to erupt in laughter.

In the video, he is then seen resurfacing with a half-bald head as the hairpiece floats away with the river.

Ms. Liu said that the crowd erupted into laughter when the young man jumped in and lost his hair.
