Floodwater surged down the steps at a train station as Typhoon Haikui unleashed historic downpour on southern China.
Dramatic video filmed in Shenzhen City in Guangdong Province on September 7, shows floodwater cascading down the Huanggekeng subway station's stairs like a waterfall, overwhelming the platform.
Efforts were made by staff to place water barriers at the entrance in a desperate bid to stave off the deluge.
By 8:00 pm, Shenzhen Metro's official social media account released a public notice, announcing the temporary suspension of services at Huanggekeng station on Line 16 due to the severe flooding.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
