A suspicious black minibus was caught on CCTV dropping off a robbery victim in Indonesia.

The victim, Helmis Indrawati (49), was dropped off by the side of the road in Bukik Batabuah, Agam regency, West Sumatra province.

She ran away from the car that abandoned her, shouting for help to passers-by.

The housewife, who had just returned from the market, said she had been kidnapped and robbed by an unknown person.

"I was waiting for public transport, the car stopped near me and asked for my husband, saying he had something to do. He offered to get into the car so that they could go home together," Indrawati added.

The victim was persuaded by the perpetrator to get into the car and was immediately strangled by the perpetrator.

Another perpetrator snatched the bag containing the victim's money and took away the gold necklace the victim was wearing. The victim lost gold jewellery and money, a total loss of IDR 14,000,000 or about USD 911.

After successfully taking the victim's property, the perpetrators left the victim by the side of the road.

Head of the Bukittinggi City Resort Police Criminal Investigation Department, Assistant Commissioner of Police (AKP) Fetrizal S, said the case occurred on 2 September and because the victim was traumatised, she only reported it to the police today (8 September).

"The results of the preliminary investigation show that the perpetrators were three men who used sharp weapons to threaten the victim. CCTV recorded the driver changing the vehicle license plate number, which was allegedly fake to hide their identity," AKP Fetrizal added.
