Mass protests have erupted in North Macedonia following reports that healthcare professionals were involved in selling cancer medication and substituting critically ill patients' treatments with saline solution.

The University Clinic for Oncology and Radiotherapy faced allegations of stealing and reselling medication on the black market. Thousands protested in Skopje on September 4th, demanding justice for the victims and transparency in the investigation.

The scandal has caused outrage, with protesters demanding accountability and an end to the culture of impunity for serious violations of laws. No arrests or charges have been made as of now.
