Sleep monkey naps in the grounds of Angkor Wat khmer temples
A sleepy juvenile monkey takes a nap in the grounds of the Angkor Wat complex of 12th century Khmer Hindu temples in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on September 9.
The primates have been branded a 'risk' to tourists visiting the ancient park, but this little animal proved to be no danger to anyone.
Officials at the Apsara National Authority (ANA), which is responsible for managing, safeguarding and preserving the Angkor site, said earlier this year that the number of monkeys at the ancient park had increased significantly.
The well-fed primates have become familiar with humans and wait for them to give them food instead of gathering it themselves, the agency claimed.
Deputy Director General of Apsara Authority Kim Sothin said that troublesome monkeys living in the Angkor area pose a threat to tourists.
