A Government Railway Police (GRP) officer came to the aid of a woman who had slipped while boarding a moving train in central India.

This incident happened at Bina Junction railway station on September 7.

Visuals showed the horrific sight of the lady being dragged by the train (Memu Express) after she had slipped and fallen. The woman, identified as a 59-year-old named Ayesha Khan, had tried to get on the moving train but unfortunately, slipped and fell down. She was perilously stuck in the gap between the train and the platform and other passengers inside the vehicle held on to her, to ensure she didn't fall into the gap.

Meanwhile, the cop, identified as constable Jitendra Singh Baghel, having spotted this, ran towards the woman and pulled her out of harm's way. A huge crowd had gathered at the spot where she was saved.

Baghel later stated that he and his friend Rishi Dangi were drinking tea when the woman slipped while boarding the train. He shared how he ran behind the lady who was dragged almost 50 metres by the train and saved her life. The lady's garment was torn but had this rescue been a bit late, a tragedy could have taken place. The woman was later put in the same train and sent to Bhopal.
