Spectacular Twilight Thunderstorm Cell Flashing In The Dusk Sky Last Night - Drone View Sept 8th 2023

Buy video

We have been having a great heat wave across N. Ireland, today we had an all new September temp record of 28 degrees C in Co. Tyrone where I live. The heat and humidity with 2000 CAPE produced a sudden thunderstorm which erupted with the setting sun. The storm was big, very isolated, and was surrounded by clear sky so viewing was perfect.

The sky darkened to twilight and the storm became beautiful to watch, perched over the Sperrins and lit up from within by in-cloud lightning, it was a gorgeous sight on such a hot night. Everyone in the area was watching it and talking about it. We have never seen such a sight in September before. This was filmed from Cookstown with my drone, I have edited various clips together into a montage showing the lightning.
