STORYLINE:
The Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council and General Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan on Saturday visited the army's 4th infantry division in Blue Nile State.
Addressing the soldiers at the division, Al-Burhan called on the African Union (AU) and the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) to stop negative and unacceptable intervention in Sudan's internal affairs, the sovereign council said in a statement.

"Now, we have a clear opinion on the African Union and if it insisted on carrying on with its path, we will not deal with it at all. We deal only with those respecting the Sudanese and Sudan and as well as its status."
He stressed the government's keenness for peace that prevents a return to the situation before April 15, the date when the war broke out between the SAF and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

"Our hands are always extended for peace, but the peace which safeguards the country, its statutes, its unity and its dignity, the peace which prevents reoccurrence of what is happening now."
Sudan has been witnessing deadly clashes between the SAF and the RSF in Khartoum and other areas since April 15, which left over 3,000 people killed and more than 6,000 injured, according to the Sudanese Health Ministry.
