Former teacher donates surgical samples to new research project

Alison Torrens, a former art teacher from Portstewart, has given consent to donate her own surgical samples to a new research project she is funding via the Northern Ireland Biobank.
Ms Torrens has also left a gift in her will to Queen’s University Belfast to help fund the project into adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC), the cancer type that she has.
