Chinese couple from truck perform heroic rescue during toddler's toy car adventure in busy traffic
A couple from a truck performed heroic rescue during a toddler's toy car adventure in the busy traffic in China.
CCTV footage filmed in the city of Jinhua in Zhejiang Province on August 30, shows a 2-year-old boy driving a toy excavator among vehicles on a busy road.
A delivery truck stopped and a lady from the passenger seat quickly got out of the vehicle. She swiftly picked up the child and the toy vehicle and moved them to the roadside.
At the same time, the woman's husband also parked the truck and rushed to the scene. The couple called the police and stayed with the boy until they handed him over to the authorities before quietly departing.
According to the police investigation, the lady who rescued the toddler is named Shi Hongying. She explained that she and her husband, Mr Zhu, were driving the delivery truck through the intersection when they suddenly spotted the child riding the electric toy vehicle in the middle of the road.
After inquiries and visits by the police, the family of the young boy was located. As it turns out, the toddler had ventured onto the road while his grandmother wasn't paying attention, driving the toy vehicle by himself.
Thanks to the timely intervention, a potentially tragic incident was averted.
