Local vendors along with their vehicles were being washed away by the powerful floodwaters caused by a torrential downpour in northern China.

The video was filmed in Xi'an City in Shaanxi Province on September 11.

Eyewitness Mr Liu said: "Weihe Street is known for its small traders, many of whom sell breakfast. The rain came so suddenly that they didn't have time to react."

Thankfully, there have been no reported casualties. The drainage systems in the area have since been restored and residents are now returning to their normal routines.
