STORYLINE:

The ongoing 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) has opened up new opportunities and boosted confidence for foreign investors.

The event kicked off in Xiamen, east China's Fujian Province, on Friday, drawing the participation of companies from 102 countries and regions.↳

Foreign companies show their interest in China's green and low-carbon industry and believe that there is great potential in the country's low-carbon industry market.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): SIMON BAUDRY, Managing partner of Baudry & Associes Strategy consulting
"I guess the (green and low-carbon industry) in China is quite booming. I can see that China is taking some kind of leadership in terms of energy. We are building a kind of incubator, an incubator for green technology, for green innovation. So we are here for connecting and meeting investors in China. I am very confident in the Chinese market to make the companies growing, but also expand on the global level. "

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): KARIM FAHSSIS, Head of Decarbonization Insights and Project Execution, A.P.Moller Maersk
"China is in very well position, giving its abundance bio mass ways resources, but you also have the strong political willingness coming from the central government with the dual-carbon targets. And China is also of course the leading country when it comes to all the equipment supply chain and all the equipment that are required for energy transition. So this de-carbonization journey is a very important next chapter to this long term relationship between Maersk and China."
