Lights, camera, fire! Stage lighting engulfed in flames during TV show filming
This is the moment stage lighting caught fire during the filming of a variety television show.
The noontime Filipino program ‘It's Showtime' was recording an episode with a live audience when one of the spotlights mounted on the ceiling caught fire in Manila, the Philippines on September 4.
Footage shows sparks flying off the burning equipment inside the studio as the broadcasting crew checked on it in front of the audience.
One of the viewers Romnick Ragudo said the fire was immediately put out and didn't spread, so they resumed the show after the busted lighting had been removed.
Noontime shows are a staple of Filipino television which have been a source of entertainment and livelihood for decades. The first noontime show in the Philippines was Student Canteen, which aired from 1958 to 1965 featuring music, dance, and comedy.
