Westminster Magistrates Court heard Daniel Khalife, 21-year old ex-soldier, is accused of escaping HMP Wandsworth by strapping himself to the underside of a food delivery truck using what could be bed sheets. A former member of the Royal Signals in Stafford, Khalife spoke to confirm his name and date of birth but was not asked to indicate a plea to the charge. Khalife was transferred to Belmarsh, a category A jail, following his escape from category B Wandsworth facility.
