Wild monkeys commandeer digger working on road repairs
This is the amusing moment wild monkeys commandeered a digger that was working on road repairs.
Footage shows the macaque sitting on the driver's seat while fiddling with the levers and controls as his friend climbed the machinery's arm in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, Thailand on September 10.
The incident unfolded while the workmen were on their lunchbreak.
Thailand's growing population of primates in urban areas have become a problem as the animals are known to damage property, such as cars and buildings. They have also been reported to steal food from tourists and locals.
Meanwhile, the Thai government is taking steps to manage the monkey population in the country including creating sanctuaries, education of public on how to handle the animals properly, and relocating them to more suitable habitats.
