A brave father caught a toddler who fell out of the third-floor window of a building in southern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Changsha in Hunan Province on July 10.

The man named Cheng Guanghui was returning home after taking his son out for a leisurely day. As they approached the community, his 11-year-old son suddenly called out to him, saying, "Dad, look! There seems to be a child up there."

Cheng followed his son's gaze and looked up, only to see a 2 or 3-year-old boy, clinging to the balcony railing on the fourth floor, standing perilously close to the edge.

In a rush, Cheng headed downstairs, with his son following closely behind. The situation was urgent. While instructing his son to go to the third floor and search for the child's parents, he stood below, arms outstretched, fearing the child might fall.

However, as soon as his son entered the building, and before Cheng could get into position, the child slipped and fell from the third floor, hitting the roof of the second floor before tumbling down. In a critical moment, Cheng spread his arms and managed to catch the child safely.

The child was frightened and cried loudly. Cheng quickly contacted the property management, and together they took the child to the hospital.

Fortunately, despite the severity of the fall, the young boy suffered a leg fracture when he hit the first-floor roof and needed to stay in the hospital for two weeks, but there was no threat to his life.

According to Cheng, the child weighed about 15 kilograms, and catching him left his arms bruised. He didn't initially think much of the incident but was surprised that two months later, the story spread widely.

Cheng said, 'I believe anyone would try to lend a helping hand when they see such a situation.'

After being discharged from the hospital, the young boy and his family paid a visit to Cheng Guanghui and his son to express their gratitude.
