Daniel Durso, an Australian expat in China, has been working in the agricultural sector in north China's Tianjin for more than 10 years.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): DANIEL DURSO, Founder of Tianjin Fengfupu Agricultural Technology Co., LTD.
"We mainly plant leaf vegetables in this greenhouse. There is rape, and also lettuce. They don't need to be washed. You can just pick and eat. Like this, it's totally fine.
When I was in college, I had a lot of friends who were overseas Chinese students. We lived together. We were very good friends. Because of them, I became curious about China and wanted to know more about the country."

In 2006, Daniel came to Nankai University in Tianjin to study Chinese.

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): DANIEL DURSO, Founder of Tianjin Fengfupu Agricultural Technology Co., LTD.
"In China, when you go to a park, you'll always find some kind of activity going on. There are people dancing, playing games. I love the feeling. People are close to each other."

After graduation, Durso settled down in Tianjin and began to work in the agricultural sector.

"When I was young, I watched my relatives and my parents growing our own food in the small yard. I have the same feeling now."

At first, Daniel's knowledge of agricultural technology was almost zero. But he was a good learner.

Thanks to the Chinese language he mastered, he looked up information on the internet and taught himself planting skills.

In recent years, as the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region advances, Durso's business has grown bigger.
