A large python was caught sleeping under a Buddhist monk's house near a temple.

Footage shows the 13ft-long serpent coiled under the wooden beams before rescuers dragged it out and measured it on the ground in Ang Thong province, Thailand. The reptile was put inside a bag and taken for release back into the wild.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
