World's worst escape! Suspect trips over while trying to jump from police truck
This is the hilarious moment a suspect made the world's worst escape bid - tripping on the police truck and slamming onto the ground.
The handcuffed man was being hauled away with three armed cops following behind on motorcycles and two officers in the vehicle.
Dashcam footage shows the barefooted suspect sitting patiently on the cargo bed of the police truck as he waited to seize his opportunity in Bangkok, Thailand on September 11.
When the truck stopped at a U-turn slot to give way to oncoming traffic, the man waited for the police motorcycle riders to pass then sprung to his feet and frantically tried to leap from the truck.
However, the getaway ended in an epic failure as he tripped on the tailgate and slammed his shoulder painfully on the tarmac - sheepishly apologising for his bungled attempt at freedom.
A driver travelling behind the police, who recorded the amusing incident on his dash cam, said: 'I wish I had this much optimism. Perhaps he thought he was Superman and could outrun five policemen while he was in handcuffs and with no shoes.'
The officers from the Nong Chok district dragged the pleading suspect back onto the truck to be delivered to the police station, this time with two officers flanking him inside the vehicle to prevent another escape attempt.
