Camping fail as flames from wok splash onto cook's friends
A camper's hot wok burst into flames that splashed on his friends while he was making stir-fry vegetables.
Footage shows the cook managing the outdoor kitchen while his companions were having beer on chairs nearby in Ratchaburi province, Thailand on August 27.
But a huge but sudden fire erupted when he poured a bowl of freshly washed water spinach onto the frying pan, driving the men away. None of them were hurt as they were far enough from the fire to avoid direct contact.
Woks generate high heat that helps to sear food quickly, locking in flavour, but they can be potentially hazardous for inexperienced cooks.
