Moment police officer dragged along road by fleeing driver - during routine traffic stop
A police state trooper was dragged along the road after driver tried to flee police after a traffic stop.
Video from the state trooper's dashcam shows the moment the now-arrested Derek Lobo, 31, flees the scene - taking the officer with him.
The incident happened in Brockton, Massachusetts, USA where the officer was dragged for a few seconds before he let go and returned to his own vehicle.
Massachusetts State Police said Lobo was stopped on motor vehicle violations and was wanted for a litany of other crimes.
They also confirmed the officer received minor injuries during the incident.
Massachusetts State Police said: "The Massachusetts State Police are seeking the driver of a car that dragged a Trooper on a traffic stop in Brockton last night. "
"The incident occurred at shortly before 6:00 PM on Montello Street after the Trooper stopped the car for motor vehicle violations."
The suspect is identified as Derek Lobo, 31, of Brockton.
"He is wanted for Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle, and Trafficking in Fentanyl, among other charges."
"The Trooper suffered minor injuries."
The footage was captured on September 13th.
