STORYLINE:
Peruvian President Dina Boluarte announced on Wednesday that at least five cities in the South American nation, including Lima, will host the meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum (APEC) to be held in 2024.
During a ceremony held in the capital's Government Palace, the head of State assured that they will "discuss the issues that help consolidate the agenda of progress and development that this forum seeks."
The host cities include Trujillo, Arequipa, Urubamba, Ucayali, and the capital city of Lima.
The president stressed that for the success of the next APEC meeting, it is "fundamental" to have the active participation of regional and local authorities, to whom she promised her "decided" support for the preparation.
