Joël Kruisselbrink, a trainer, coach, and social worker, has brought a burst of positive energy to a Rotterdam nursing home, elevating both physical activity and emotional well-being among residents. Through games and interactive activities, Kruisselbrink has found a creative and effective way to combat the inertia and mobility issues that often affect nursing home residents. "I try to engage them based on their personal interests, such as their former work or hobbies," he says. Not only residents but also full-time caregivers find themselves inspired to participate. "If I make up some games in a playful way, my colleagues suddenly want to join," Joël notes. The uplifting footage of residents in action was shared on Joël's Instagram account, "@bewegen.is.leven".
