STORYLINE:
A German official spoke highly of a Sino-German financial cooperation project in north China's Hebei Province during her recent visit to China.
The project aiming to help protect the wetland in Hengshui Lake was launched in 2016 and completed this year.
It utilized a total of 11.2 million euros (about 11.9 million U.S. dollars) of loans from the German government.

Hengshui Lake is a national nature reserve that boasts a complete wetland ecosystem. It is home to 333 bird species, including 21 under China's top protection.
