American tourist attacks security guards blocking him from entering airport terminal in the Philippines
An American tourist has been arrested for allegedly attacking security guards blocking him from entering an airport in the Philippines.
Tyrone Bennett rode a cab from a condominium in the Makati district of the capital Manila to catch a flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on September 14.
However, airport security barred him from entering Terminal 3 as he could not produce a ticket, sending him into a rampage.
Footage shows the trolley-pulling passenger squaring off with airport staff surrounding him near the terminal's entrance. He was seen grabbing APO1 John Carlo Carbonel in a headlock, then jabbing at him as other employees called police for help.
Officers later arrived and cuffed Tyrone. Despite being pinned to the ground, he was heard threatening a cop, saying: 'I know your face. You're gonna get it.'
Airport police chief Froilan Sanchez said: 'The man had hailed a taxi from Makati City. When he arrived at the departure area in front of Gate 2 at the airport, he left without paying the cab.
'The driver chased him down, and that was where the security guards blocked him because he didn't have a ticket.'
Froilen added that Tyrone is now facing charges of alarm and scandal, resistance and disobedience of a person in authority, and physical injuries.
The U.S. Embassy has also been informed of the incident, authorities said.
