Hospital on Wheels (HOW) travels to poor areas in the Philippines to deliver free surgical services. The ambulance is a vehicle that can traverse tough terrain in the mountains to save the lives of patients in hard to reach areas.

‘We have significant lack in healthcare service, we go to the community rather than the community going to the hospital. So it’s the hospital going to the community. Our main service at Hospital on Wheels is surgical, we remove mumps, tumours or cysts from head to toe,’ said Dr Juan ‘Jim’ P. Sanchez Jr., the founder of HOW.

One of the main sponsors of HOW is Nancy Ng of the Aguman Campaign Foundation. They give monetary assistance to patients as well after their surgeries.

Aside from children, many teens and adults patients from poor communities also avail their services.
