The video was recorded the day October 2, 2015, after eating about half past one. We were driving from Lower Sabie Camp to Skukuza Camp by H4-1 road, when we saw stopped cars looking at the Sabie River. On the bank of the river were a herd of eight young lions and lionesses hidden in the bushes. Across the river had some impalas and some warthogs. Lions and lionesses kept looking at Impalas, and headed by a female, were advancing field until cross the river. When the 8 were already on the other side, one of the lionesses began the attack impalas and warthogs ran in all directions. There with the confusion, a clueless male impala walked past in front of the lion and the lion caught him with his paw. The ambush lasted over an hour, all well organized and lions led by a lioness. It was awesome. It was our second time in Kruger and we were very lucky. - Video taker, Alba Piquer Navarro.
This is exceptional due to the fact that Lions usually first kill their prey before feeding.
