Rain pours into restaurant through ceiling during monsoon storm in the Philippines
Rain poured through the ceiling of a restaurant during a monsoon storm in the Philippines.
Footage shows water cascading through the light sockets and showering chairs and tables as a heavy downpour battered the barbecue store in Cavite province on September 17.
The leak flooded the restaurant floor, with staff mopping up to battle the deluge.
The storm lasted for around an hour and temporarily knocked out power in the area, local media reported.
Onlooker Ross Calderon said: 'The heavy rain caused a bit of panic, but the customers chose to stay because they said the restaurant was offering unlimited servings of rice.'
The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
