Tourist tossed into air by cow during photo session at Chinese scenic area
A tourist was tossed into the air by a cow during a photo session at a scenic area in northwestern China.
The video was filmed in Altay Prefecture in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on September 17.
A casual photo opportunity with a herd of cows turned terrifying for Ms Jiang during her tour of the Kanas scenic area. While posing for pictures, she was suddenly launched into the air by a cow.
Jiang recounted the chilling encounter, saying she came across the herd while touring the scenic spot and asked a photographer to capture the moment. As she approached the bovines, one particularly surly cow glared at her and, without warning, used its head to send her flying.
Panicking, she scrambled towards the photographer for help. Thankfully, she suffered no severe injuries, though she reported pain in her thigh and buttock.
Local staff at the scenic area responded to the incident by urging tourists to maintain a safe distance from herds of cattle when visiting. They especially cautioned against approaching the animals while wearing skirts, warning that the fluttering fabric can easily provoke the creatures.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
