The Thai dish 'phat kaphrao' has been named the best stir fry in the world.

The minced pork and basil meal, which is served with rice and a fried egg, was ranked 4.8 stars out of 5 by the food website Taste Atals.

It was followed by South Korea's Dak Galbi in second place with a rating of 4.7 stars, and Ethiopian's Tibs in third place with a rating of 4.6 stars.

The website also provided a description of this Thai dish, stating: 'This traditional Thai stir-fry combines minced meat or seafood with holy basil and various other ingredients such as shallots, garlic, and chili peppers.

'The dish is flavored with soy sauce, sugar, and fish sauce, and typically comes served with rice, fried eggs, and fish sauce on the side.

'Interestingly, phat kaphrao is ranked as the fourth most common dish ordered by foreigners in Thailand.'

In addition, other Thai dishes also made appearances on the list with Phat si-io ranking at 19, Khua kling at 23, and stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts in 44th place.
