Customs officials seize gold in paste form from three passengers in southern India

Officials of the Hyderabad Customs intercepted three passengers in different cases from Dubai and retrieved gold in paste form, concealed in undergarments, in southern India's Telangana.

This incident happened at the Rajiv Gandhi International airport on September 15.

Visuals showed one of the officials tearing apart two underwear from which he took out two black packets containing the gold in paste form. As per a report, gold weighing 611 grams (1.347 lbs) was recovered from these three passengers and it was worth Rs 37.13 lakh ($44,589.08). The gold was seized by the officials and the three passengers were arrested.
