A heroic shopper swiftly rescued a terrified girl from a fierce monkey chase in southern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province on September 17.

A young girl was being pursued closely by the monkey when she sought refuge in the shop. A brave female customer, upon seeing the child in danger, promptly picked up a nearby broom and mustered the courage to chase the aggressive monkey away.

Mr Liao, the shop owner, later stated that the monkey appeared particularly aggressive, showing signs of potential hostility towards the young girl. Sadly, during her attempt to escape, the girl sustained minor injuries inflicted by the monkey. She quickly received medical treatment as a precaution against potential infections.

After an emergency call was placed, local firefighters promptly arrived at the scene. Following a challenging effort, they managed to capture the menacing monkey.

In consideration of Liangshan's ecological environment, the captured primate was subsequently handed over to forestry officials to be released back into the wild.
