A stray male dog's dastardly plan to mount a female pooch came unstuck - when he became trapped in the narrow bars of a garden gate.

CCTV shows how the white mutt had spotted the canine on heat teasing him from the patio of the home in Suphanburi, Thailand.

He had a moment of sniffing her behind as she gently reversed her posterior into a suitable place.

However, the stray's urges were foiled by an inability to squeeze through the gaps. He then became stuck in the bars while trying to mount the available female.

Dates on the recordings show the dog was stuck for around five hours before the homeowner arrived in the evening and called a rescue team for help on August 16.

The crew safely dislodged the pooch, with the resident ushering it out of her property.

An onlooker said: 'The gate was useful. It was the ultimate block.'
