A hungry cow tried to join a family for dinner when it raided their tent in China.

Footage shows the brown bovine caught inside the residents' home in the grassland in Inner Mongolia on August 12.

The animal quickly retreated when it heard the house owner call it out and waited outside before being scolded for the mess it made.

It ate several slices of watermelon and spilt a bowl of milk while the bread and packaged cheese were untouched.

After chasing the cow out of home, the owner discovers that most of the food on the table had been eaten.

According to the filmer, it wasn't the first time the cow had snuck into the house to eat, and it just stood there calmly like a mischievous child while its owner yelled at it.
