An abandoned dog and its puppies were found sheltering under a fallen tree in Izyum, eastern Ukraine.

In the aftermath of Izyum's liberation from Russian forces on September 12, 2022, a poignant scene unfolded as documented by @yaroslavlytcushun. A video captured a dog with her precious litter of puppies, seeking refuge beneath timeworn timber behind an abandoned house amidst the turmoil of war. The encounter occurred when a group of individuals, part of the assault brigades, ventured into the area. However, due to their subsequent deployment along the contact line, they were unable to provide long-term care for the canine family. Instead, the fate of the dog and her puppies fell into the hands of the local population, who had begun to return home following the city's liberation.
