A boy, engrossed in his mobile phone while sitting inside a cardboard box, suffered a tear duct rupture when a neighbouring child accidentally poked his eye with a bamboo chopstick.

The video was filmed in Liuyang City in Hunan Province on September 16.

According to the boy’s mother, Ms Sun, she was organising goods when the incident occurred. The boy, who enjoys playing in corners, had crawled into the box to play with his phone. The unfortunate event led to a rupture in the boy's tear duct. After the incident, the neighbour apologized sincerely and voluntarily paid for the medical expenses.

Ms Sun shared, “The mother of the neighbouring child asked him why he poked there. The child said that a few days ago, he had found a rabbit and placed it in a cardboard box. His mother told him that sealing the box would deprive the rabbit of oxygen, so he should poke holes in it. He was worried that my child would also lack oxygen inside the box that day, so he poked holes and accidentally hit my child’s eye.”

Following surgery, the child’s injured eye has begun to heal. “He underwent surgery the same night. A tear duct was created at the site of the injured eye, and the doctor said it could be removed in a few months,” said Ms Sun. As of September 18, visual acuity tests showed that the child’s vision has returned to normal.

据孩子妈妈孙女士介绍，自己当时在理货，小孩喜欢躲在角落里玩，就钻到纸箱里玩手机去了。没想到突发意外，造成自家小孩泪小管破裂。事发后，邻居道歉态度很好，且主动支付了医药费。
孙女士说：“后面邻居小孩妈妈问他为什么要在那里戳，小孩说前几天捡了一只兔子放在纸箱里，他妈妈和他说纸箱封起来会缺氧，让他在纸箱上戳洞。他那天就担心我家小孩在纸箱里也会缺氧，所以就在那戳洞，不小心戳到了我家小孩眼睛上了。”
经过手术，孙女士小孩受伤的眼睛开始好转。“当天晚上就做了手术，在受伤的眼睛那里做了个泪管，医生说过几个月就可以拆掉。”9月18日，孙女士小孩进行了视力检测，已恢复正常。
