The Mexican railway operator Ferromex announced this Wednesday morning the suspension of the service of 60 trains on routes to the north bound for cities bordering the United States. Hours later, the company began moving some of the formations that did not have migrants in them.

Most of the 60 trains, however, remain stopped due to the presence of migrants at the shunting facilities, the spokesperson added.

Ferromex initially explained that the suspension of the service seeks to "protect the physical integrity of migrants," since in recent days there have been half a dozen cases of injuries and deaths.

The logistics operator added that the accumulation of migrants both in wagons and in staging yards "has increased significantly." Only in four points where the company has facilities – Torreon, Aguascalientes, Irapuato and Chihuahua – there are at least 4,300 migrants camped out waiting to take the train to try to reach the border with the United States, according to the statement.

This video illustrates several shots of migrants on trains as well as the shots of trains stopped with migrants.
