STORYLINE:

A just-concluded agricultural hi-tech fair in China's Shaanxi attracted over 1,500 exhibitors from 39 countries and regions and offered cooperation opportunities.

The 30th China Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Fair was held on Sept. 19-23 under the theme of "soil health and food security."

Uzbekistan is the guest country of honor at this year's fair.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): AZIMOV FARUKH, Advisor of the Economic and Trade Department, Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in China
"We hope to introduce our agricultural products to Chinese friends, and also spread our culture through this fair. Uzbekistan is learning a lot from China. We are strengthening cooperation in the agricultural sector and we hope the core agricultural technologies could be transferred to our country."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): AWALE ALI KULLANE, Ambassador of Somalia to China
"What we appreciate (about) China is not only showing us the technological exchanges but also sharing with us on how to advance. But what we think about is what the whole world thinks about. China's speed of development and its role in cooperating technology is really amazing and it's eye-opening for all of us, especially in the Horn of Africa and (it) provides great opportunities for us to develop more."

Established in 1994, the fair is one of the largest and most influential events dealing with agricultural science in China.
