A mum says her sex drive "skyrocketed" during pregnancy – and was still at it three days a week - weeks before she gave birth."

Christina Campbell, 30, found herself wanting to have sex "all the time" during her second pregnancy."

It came as a surprise for the mum-of-two who was "never in the mood" when she was expecting with her eldest daughter, now two."

Prior to falling pregnant Christina and her husband Samuel, 29, who is in the navy, had been having sex once a week on average.

In her second pregnancy they were intimate every other day and she said her orgasms were "much stronger"."

She claims they were regularly at it - up to three times a week - up until she was 34 weeks along.

The pair continued to have sex once a week until Christina was 37 weeks pregnant - just two weeks before their daughter, now three months, was born.

Christina, a stay-at-home mum, from Virginia Beach, Virginia, US, said: "My hormones skyrocketed."

"I was sick but horny."

"I wanted to have sex all the time."

"I had a very high sex drive."

Christina’s first pregnancy was the complete opposite as she had just been diagnosed with Crohn's disease - a lifelong condition where parts of the digestive system become inflamed - and was struggling with flare ups.

She said: "I was very sick and had a very low sex drive."

"I never wanted to do it."

"I was never in the mood."

"We had sex a couple of times a month - if my husband was lucky."

Despite not having the urge to be intimate, Christina did discover that her climaxes were stronger.

When she fell pregnant again, she was expecting a similar feeling but found she had more of an urge.

She said: "Going into the second I was expecting to not enjoy it."

"But I found myself wanting to more often."

"Hormones make it really good."

"During pregnancy I was climaxing multiple times."

"I feel a different climax – it’s much stronger."

"It was insane."

"I miss that sex."

"We were having sex every other day."

Christina kept an open conversation with Samuel – and they each checked in with each other to make sure neither of them were uncomfortable at any point.

She said: "My husband wasn’t like – ‘that’s gross’."

"I let him know that if he feels uncomfortable to let me know."

"When it comes to sex – communication is very important."

Since giving birth to her second daughter in June 2023, Christina did initially notice a drop in her sex drive but was back at it after three weeks.

She said: "Even with two kids we find the time."

"I don't mind doing it with the baby in the cot."

After experiencing very different sex drives in her two pregnancies, Christina wants other women there is no wrong or right.

She said: "It’s OK if you don’t want it and if you find yourself not being able to keep your hands off your partner that’s OK too."

"As long as you are cleared to do it, you should do it."

"Go for it."
